Your heart is on the outside of your Chest

Somehow this idea sparked last night and just became somewhat more developed between dreams and reality.  At first i wanted to work on puppets but after drawing 3 different concepts, I ended up with something like this. I almost would rather paint this on wood or something real than a computer but its faster in photoshop.
Anyway, sometimes in life we put ourselves out there and take a chance, sometimes its bad and sometimes its good but if we don't try nothing comes to pass. 
A song from A CAMP "Algebra"  has this specific lyric in their song.
Sometimes what seems logical does not make any sense at all, and following what we want or what we need puts us in a vulnerable situation and we ended up wearing our hearts on the outside of our chests.
Maybe i'm over thinking... Either way i'm having fun painting this. I have another update i did last night i will post later

girl with hood update

I am hoping i am not too tired and that I did not wear a blanket on my head while i painted this for nothing.
Its pretty late but I'm having fun - I blocked in the hand and the cloth and started to define an actual light source, however the light still needs lots of work. I will look at it again in the morning to see i'm not crazy. I will have to shift stuff for sure because her hand is a bit too manly and i'm not digging the fingers yet.

Wednesday morning bus ride

this morning on the bus, the sun reflected  into all the windows, I looked up and saw my reflection and saw myself in the film Beetlejuice. Little head big body, more like normal body little head. So when i got to work today I drew myself,  although my camera is not liking taking photos for blogger...very odd.

Hooded Girl update

Started painting through the sketch a bit tonight.
It was a busy weekend but i managed to squeeze this in between RollerDerby tryouts on sunday, practicing skating on saturday and getting sick. boo for the sick part.

I will start working on roughing in the cloth for the hood. then going back to the face tomorrow.
